Small-Scale Farming
We believe that small-scale, organic family farms are the most sustainable way to produce food.
These types of farms:
Have a greater diversity of crops. By avoiding monocultures, they help protect landscapes and ecosystems.
Can produce more food per hectare.
Create more jobs per hectare, and provide fairer employment opportunities.
Reinvest their income locally, benefiting the local economy.
Store more carbon in fertile soils.
Manage water more efficiently, allowing their soils to retain more water and reducing the need to rely on external water sources.
Help preserve and pass on traditional knowledge and local craftsmanship.
And let's be honest: a landscape dotted with small farms is far more beautiful than a monoculture of industrial production fields or vast greenhouse complexes.
Radical Transparency
We only sell food produced by people we know and trust. We strive to personally know as many of our farmers as possible and to visit them on their farms.
At one point, we sold peeled tomatoes from a well-known organic brand in Spain. However, when we were refused access to visit the farm and processing facilities, we decided to end the partnership.
Our farmers are proud of the way they work and have nothing to hide — quite the opposite. Below, you can discover some of their stories.
We have nothing to hide either. We warmly invite anyone to visit our warehouse. You are welcome every Monday or Thursday, when we walk through the products together and give you the opportunity to meet our team.
